Your first job in Stockria
From bar stock and machine time to a price
01 · Cost per part
A part recipe with material, machine and labour
Say what one part takes: 140 mm of flat bar, two screws, and the minutes it spends on the saw, the mill and with your machinist. Each machine and person has an hourly rate, so Stockria shows the cost per part before you quote.

02 · Work order
A work order that collects the real cost
Open a work order for the job. Log time on each machine and person as it happens, and add material as you use it. The total is what the job really cost, not what you guessed. Then sell it at cost plus your margin, as a quote or a sales order.

03 · Can make
How many parts can I make from the rack?
Each part shows how many you can make from the bar, sheet or filament on hand, and which one runs out first. Check before you promise a delivery date.

How it works
How a job shop sets up Stockria
- 01
Add stock the way you buy it
Bar by the length or the kg, sheet by the piece, filament by the spool. Tell Stockria how many mm or grams are in what you buy, once, and it converts from then on.
- 02
Add machines and people with a rate
The lathe, the mill, the laser, the printer, the welder and the people who run them. Each gets an hourly rate. You do this once.
- 03
Run the job, log the minutes, sell it
Open a work order, log time and material as the work happens, then turn it into a quote or a sales order at cost plus your margin.
Price one part before you sign up
Put in material, machine minutes and labour, and see the cost per part. No signup.
The share of the price you keep as profit. 50% means the price is twice your cost.

Quote for 25 parts
$877.38
That is $35.10 per part, with a profit of $263.21 on the job.
Keep this recipe. Stockria saves it with your materials, so the cost updates when a price changes and each batch you make takes stock off the shelf.
Straight answers
What job shops ask before they switch
"I buy bar stock by the kg and use it by the mm."
Set the unit you buy in and the unit you use, and tell Stockria how many mm are in what you buy, once. Receive by the bar or the kg, cut by the mm. The cost per mm stays right as prices change.
"Every job is different. I can't keep a recipe for each one."
You don't have to. Repeat parts get a recipe. One-off jobs get a work order where you log the time and material as you go. Both end with a real cost.
"Some jobs sit waiting for paint, plating or a second op."
Hold the work order as work in progress. Material is already off the shelf, the job waits on the In Production board with its stage, and finished parts only go into stock when you release them.
"I don't want a bill that grows every time I get busy."
It doesn't. Stockria is a flat monthly price. It does not change with your orders, your sales or your number of items. Pro is $19 a month. You only move to a bigger plan when you add more people or more locations.
"I don't want to pay extra to unlock batches or work orders."
You won't. Every feature is on every plan, Free included: recipes, work orders, work in progress, lots and expiry dates, machines and labour, purchase orders and reports. Plans only differ by items, users and locations. Free covers 250 items, and raw materials count as items.
An honest comparison
What job shops use today, and what it costs
Public prices, checked in October 2026. If something has changed, email hello@stockria.com and we fix the page. If you plan production across several factories with a full-time planner, a manufacturing platform is the better fit. Stockria is built for the small workshop.
Common questions
Questions from CNC, fabrication and 3D print shops
It adds the material at what you paid for it, plus the minutes on each machine and person at their hourly rate. On a work order it uses the time and material you actually logged.
Yes. Each material has a unit you buy in and a unit you use. Tell Stockria how many mm are in a kg or a bar of that stock, once, and it converts from then on.
Yes. Set up your machines and people under Machines and labour, each with an hourly rate. Log minutes against a work order as the work happens and the cost adds itself up.
Yes. When you sell a job, price it at cost plus a margin or a markup, or at your normal selling prices. Add extras like a rush fee. It becomes a quote or a sales order, and the job keeps its real cost.
Yes. Filament or resin is a material bought by the spool or bottle and used by the gram, and each printer is a machine with its own hourly rate.
