What soap makers see on day one

From materials on the shelf to a real cost per bar

01 · Cost per bar

A soap recipe that knows what one bar costs

List the oils, lye, water and scent for one batch, and how many bars it cuts. Stockria prices each line from what you paid and shows the cost of the batch and of one bar. When coconut oil goes up, the cost moves with it.

02 · Curing

Curing batches wait where you can see them

Each batch sits on the In Production board with a countdown to its ready date. Release it when the bars are hard and only then do they count as stock you can sell.

03 · Can make

How many more batches can I make?

Each recipe shows how many batches the oils and lye on your shelf can still make, and which oil runs out first. Order before a market, not after.

Cure time: 4 to 6 weeks. Cold process bars need 4 to 6 weeks to cure before you sell them. Make stock at least 6 weeks before a market.

Keep this recipe. Stockria saves it with your materials, so the cost updates when a price changes and each batch you make takes stock off the shelf.

Straight answers

What soap makers ask before they switch

"I buy oils by the pound and weigh them in ounces."

Set the unit you buy in and the unit you use, once. Receive a 7 lb jug, write the recipe in ounces or grams. Stockria converts every time, so the cost of each ounce stays right when you buy a bigger jug.

"My bars cure for four to six weeks before I can sell them."

Start the batch as work in progress. The oils and lye come off the shelf on the day you make it. The bars wait on the In Production board with their ready date and cannot be sold until you release them.

"Some bars crack or come out short."

When you release a batch, enter how many good bars you really cut. Stockria shares the cost over the good bars only, so your cost per bar is the real one, not the hopeful one.

"I don't want a bill that grows every time I get busy."

It doesn't. Stockria is a flat monthly price. It does not change with your orders, your sales or your number of items. Pro is $19 a month. You only move to a bigger plan when you add more people or more locations.

"I don't want to pay extra to unlock batches or work orders."

You won't. Every feature is on every plan, Free included: recipes, work orders, work in progress, lots and expiry dates, machines and labour, purchase orders and reports. Plans only differ by items, users and locations. Free covers 250 items, and raw materials count as items.

Common questions

Questions from soap makers

Look for three things: recipes that cost each bar from what you paid for your oils, batches that can cure before they count as stock, and lot numbers for each batch. Stockria does all three on every plan, including the free one.

Yes. Each material has a unit you buy in and a unit you use. Buy coconut oil in 7 lb jugs, write the recipe in ounces or grams, and Stockria converts it every time you make a batch.

Yes. Start the batch as work in progress with a cure time, for example 4 weeks. It shows on the In Production board with a countdown, and the bars only become stock you can sell when you release the batch.

Yes. Every released batch gets a lot number, and you can add an expiry date. If a customer has a problem with a bar, you can see which batch it came from and which oils went into it.

No, and that is on purpose. The lye amount must be exact and depends on each oil and your superfat. Use a lye calculator, check the result, then put that weight in your Stockria recipe so its cost is counted.

Yes. Connect your store and each sale takes the bar out of stock in Stockria, so markets and online sales share one count and you do not sell bars you no longer have.
